Due to this week’s snowfall and public concern for the robins after last year’s snow storm, here are some tips for helping the robins in your yard:
- Collect brush or use a lean-to to protect birds from the wind.
- Shovel the snow from a spot in your backyard for them to flock to.
- Robins don’t eat bird seed, so consider putting out dried mealworms, berries or suet.
Any injured robins or birds of any kind can be brought to the Wildlife Sanctuary or a licensed wildlife rehabber in your area. Sanctuary staff will provide medical care, food and protection for the birds.
