Limited service route schedules are summarized near the end of the guide. Most full-service routes depart Metro Transportation Center, travel their assigned routes as the bold lines indicate on the maps and return to the Transportation Center.

Finding Your Bus Stop

Find your bus stop and wait near the sign. Bus stops are usually located one or two blocks apart. Stand near the bus stop sign where the person driving the bus will be able to see you. (If your stop is compromised by the weather, construction, etc. please move to the next safest location and signal the driver.

Check the destination sign as the bus approaches (or read the one on the side when it stops). Some stops are served by multiple routes. Also, not all buses go to the end of the line. Read the sign to see the bus route number, name, and where it’s headed.

If you’re not sure if the bus is going where you need to go, you can always ask the driver, too.

Boarding the Bus

You can catch the bus at any signed bus stop. When you see the bus approaching, step near the curb and raise your hand to let the driver know you want to board the bus. After the bus stops, allow exiting passengers to get off the bus before you board. Since the bus may be moving and the floor may be slippery, be cautious when walking to and from your seat.

Recommendations

• If your stop is compromised by the weather, construction, etc. please move to the next safest location and signal the driver.
• Move all the way into the bus. By moving all the way in, you make it easier and makes more room for the others to get on and move through the bus.
• Keep aisles and exits clear. Blocking aisles or exits can slow down the bus. To help make everyone’s ride faster, try to keep bags or other items out of the aisles.

Paying Your Fares

Have your fare ready when the bus approaches and pay your fare as you enter.

While on the Bus

Green Bay Metro is a public service and all of our riders have a right to a safe and pleasant ride on a clean bus. While on the bus, please be considerate to others.

• Do not put your feet on the seats, or against the wall.
• Do not use loud or offensive language.
• Front seats are reserved for seniors and persons with disabilities.
• Keep all electronic devices at a minimum volume.
• No fighting or roughhousing is allowed.
• No weapons (except those allowed by state law).
• Pets must be secured in a pet carrier small enough to fit on your lap.
• Please no not litter on the bus or around bus shelters.
• Shoes and shirts must be worn at all times.
• Smoking, food, and opened beverages are not allowed.
• Strollers and all carry-ons must be stored between the seats.

Exiting the Bus

When the bus is within one block of your destination, notify the bus driver when you wish to exit the bus. Simply pull the stop request cord that runs along the upper part of the windows, or push a stop request button, sometimes located above the rear door or on a pole. Please signal only once and remain seated until the bus has stopped.

Accessibility Tips & Considering Disabilities

Riders with disabilities can request the driver to let them know when their destinations are approaching.(Accessibility tip: If you’re using a wheelchair (or other wheeled mobility device that is parked in a wheelchair position), push the yellow strip affixed to the seat next to you at the wheelchair position-this will notify the bus operator that someone at a wheelchair position needs to exit.)

Exiting Recommendations / Use Rear Door

Use the rear door to exit. By exiting at the rear door, people waiting to board the bus can enter immediately-this allows the bus to move faster and keep schedule. Once you are off, move away from the bus. For your safety, please do not walk along the side of the bus after exiting and wait for the bus to pull away before crossing the street.
