The Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary’s “Spring’s Wings Birding and Art Festival” will celebrate the many and varied ways we interact with birds. The Wildlife Sanctuary will combine efforts with other community partners to provide interesting, entertaining and informative activities for festival participants.
The list of events includes field trips, demonstrations and activities appropriate for both adults interested in increasing their knowledge of birds, art lovers of all ages and families eager to expose their children to the wonders of nature through engaging hands-on activities, such as, artist-led drawing classes, bird mask making, bird feeder/house making, naturalist led live bird programs, bird banding demonstrations and much, much more.
Concentrated by the open water of Lake Michigan, millions of brilliantly colored avian migrants funnel through Northeastern Wisconsin. Some of these winged travelers stay, while others continue on to the highest reaches of the Canadian artic. Every year more and more people become aware that the Wildlife Sanctuary is uniquely located to provide fantastic opportunities to observe this annual miracle of bird life.
