Oak Learning Center Nature Based
The Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary is pleased to offer an exciting adventure in learning with a nature-based 4-year-old kindergarten program in partnership with the Green Bay Area Public Schools and the University of Wisconsin Green Bay. This program will engage children in highly interactive outdoor learning that encourages children to explore the world around them while acquiring important skills that will prepare them for Kindergarten.
Time to Get Some Dirt on Your Hands!
Students in the Oak Center Learning Center 4K will get “down and dirty” as they interact with wildlife, plants and other resources to create a developmentally appropriate and meaningful outdoor experience. In this program, children can expect to hike trails, track animals, look for and identify different types of birds, insects and plants, explore ponds and much more. Rain or shine, we will be exploring all that nature has to teach us!
Gear Up at the Oak Learning Center 4K!
Nature provides a constantly changing environment that engages all the senses. In order to take full advantage of the nature based activities, a majority of the program lessons will be held outside in most weather conditions which means clothing, coats, boots, etc. will get muddy, wet and dirty. A list of required “nature gear” has been developed so parents can prepare their child for class. The Green Bay Area Public School District can assist with some of the gear if needed.
